Gib Dunham

Mr. Dunham joined Alternative Capital Advisers in 2013 as the Chief Investment Officer. His experience covers investment banking, private equity, equity long short investing and product development. Prior to ACA, he served as senior research analyst and director of strategy at Pemigew asset Partners, a long/short hedge fund based in Southport, CT, as partner and Portfolio manager at Beck, Mack & Oliver a $4 billion investment manager (where he was also the Chief Compliance Officer). Mr. Dunham was also Vice President at Emigrant Capital, a private equity fund focused on a wide range of private investments within a family office. While at Emigrant he was on the board of observer of several companies for which the fund had invested in.
He also served as Senior Analyst at Lipper & Co. covering the technology, media and telecom sectors an investment firm with four hedge funds internally and over $3 billion in capital. In his final year there, Mr. Dunham was seeded with a fund and was the co-manager for a small-and-mid capitalization long/short equity hedge fund. Mr. Dunham was an investment banking analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. in the telecommunications group. While at Bear, Stearns, he completed a range of transactions including mergers & acquisitions, IPO’s, equity offerings, fairness opinions and fixed income issuances.
Mr. Dunham is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has earned the CFA, CAIA, CMT, QFA and CIC designations and has also received a Certificate in Structured Products. He is a member of the Board of The Carter Burden Center for the Aging where he is also the CIO of the endowment on a voluntary basis. In addition, he is an adviser to the Larcher family office.
